Financial Aid &
Scholarships
Families who choose to send their children
to Atonement Lutheran School are doing so because of the quality Christian
education we can provide. We understand that cost is always a consideration and
for this reason the church is involved with programs to provide financial
assistance.
Please NOTE: July 1, 2008--at this
time there are no additional financial funds available for the 2008-09 school
year.
Financial
Aid Program
for Early Childhood & Elementary Families
June 1 application deadline
Atonement Lutheran School now offers limited financial assistance to
families who qualify. We have partnered with the National Association
of Independent Schools who offer a service to evaluate the financial needs and
provide an independent report to the scholarship committee. Families can apply
online or with a written application form through the mail. Applications can be
submitted beginning February 1 each year.
https://sss.ets.org/pfsHome.do (Our
school number is 4412).
There is a fee per application (up to 3 children in a family can be on one
application). Fee waivers may be available through the school. For more
information please talk to the Principal.
The NAIS SSS report is generally sent
within two weeks to the Financial Aid Committee. The deadline for filing an
NAIS SSS application for the 2008-09 school year is June 1st. The Financial
Aid Committee meets the first week of June to distribute funds which are then
approved by the Atonement School Board. If funds remain they will meet on an as
needed basis. However, unless otherwise noted, all applications filed after
June 1 will be considered for the next school year.
All families who apply for financial aid
must also participate in the Arizona Tax Credit Program.
Tuition
Tax Credit Program for Elementary School
Families with children entering kindergarten and above are encouraged to
participate in the Arizona Tuition Tax Credit Program. Students entering
kindergarten may apply for tax credit funds up to one year before school begins.
Our school currently participates in four of the many School Tax Organizations.
By encouraging extended family, friends and co-workers to direct some of their
tax dollars towards Atonement Lutheran School we can offer scholarships to many
of our students.
